What is a computer security risk??

This is a very general statement because many things are in fact, computer security risks. The foremost risk would probably come from malicious code like Viruses, Spyware, and Trojan horses. These can be infected on a system or number of systems through exploits in operating system software or web browsing software. Also a common trend is a technique known as "phishing" where a spammer will send an email that looks like its from someone else and by clicking on a link/opening an attachment you may be downloading malware.

Some forms of malware can "phone home" back to the attacker which is how bot-nets are created which can be used to take down entire websites or be used as a launchpad to send lots of spam.

The biggest computer security risk is actually the user behind the computer in most cases. That is why it is important to practice safe internet habits and keep virus protection up to date

                       Importance of internet in education

Internet Resources

  • Students can use the Internet to find information or practice skills. Websites offer multiplication, math practice and homework help. Websites like National Geographic and Discovery Kids are great resources for students to learn about the world.

Learning to Browse

  • When students reach the middle and high school grades, they should have instruction on how to browse the Internet, for example using Google, to gain information. Also, show students how to use the Internet as a resource for information about colleges and jobs.

Internet Future

  • Globalization has introduced a widespread need for jobs that didn't exist five years ago. Students must learn about the Internet and come to the realization that it is the future of learning. This means it is creating opportunities through jobs, products and services that never existed before. In order to be successful, one must educate oneself on the Internet and what it holds in order to be prepared for their future.

Past simple
We use the past simple to talk about actions and states which we see as completed in the past.
We can use it to talk about a specific point in time.
  • She came back last Friday.
  • I saw her in the street.
  • They didn't agree to the deal.

It can also be used to talk about a period of time.
  • She lived in Tokyo for seven years.
  • They were in London from Monday to Thursday of last week.
  • When I was living in New York, I went to all the art exhibitions I could.
You will often find the past simple used with time expressions such as these:
  • Yesterday
  • three weeks ago
  • last year
  • in 2002
  • from March to June

How to teach your child to read.

Teach the sounds of the letters together with their names.
The sound (or sounds) of the letters are often different from the name of the letter. In reading, it is the sounds that count. When you read to the child, point to the letter C, for example and say; "the name of this letter is [see] and it makes two sounds: [kkk] as in the word cat and also [sss] as in the word cent." Then ask child to give you examples.
Do not be rigid in how the child pronounces the sounds. Regional accents and weak auditory skills make it hard for children to say most sounds in an academically correct way. Accept a reasonable effort. Recognize that learning sounds is only an intermediate step to learning to read.
